A quick reminder…If you’d like to gain FULL ACCESS to my archive of wardrobe, homeware and travel edits, including my Little Black Book of Paris addresses, a subscription works out at just €5 a month (instead of 6€) if you sign up to the yearly plan (that’s only 1.16€ a week — less than a croissant!) I do hope you’ll join.

If you had told me a few years ago that we’d be staying in a five star hotel room in London designed by Paul Smith with a small Podenco, I probably would have laughed. But that’s exactly what Victor and I did a few weeks ago during our stay in the UK, following a family wedding. I would also have never guessed that it was so easy to visit London with a dog, but I’ve since discovered (I’ve discovered quite a few things since we adopted Indy - more on that later) that it is indeed so!

We were kindly invited by Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair to test out their two night-stay created specifically for guests and their dog! The package includes breakfast and items created in collaboration with William Morris at Home (dog bowls, coat etc…), plus dog treats concocted by the hotel’s chef. I’ve been lucky enough to stay in quite a few five star hotels, and to sleep in large luxury bedrooms, but this room, designed by British designer Smith, was by far one of the best. The suite is enormous; bigger than our two bedroom apartment in Paris, includes an adjacent living space with a sofa, dining table and desk. I would have happily stayed for longer. The staff were also wonderful and I’ve never felt so welcome, although that might have something to do with the fact that we had a dog in tow: Indy became quite the star, as she often does when we’re out and about.
