Hello lovely people, I hope you’re having a great week so far! And if you’re new here, welcome! I’m very excited to have you join my Parisian journey.
I spent most of Sunday swapping over my wardrobe; packing away my winter woolens and cold-weather clothes in storage bags and squirreling them away in our lit coffre (lift up bed), like nuts being stored until winter, to make space for lighter knits, linens, shorts and summery dresses, in preparation for warmer days. I have only one double wardrobe that is far too tiny to house all of my clothes, so twice a year I go through this rather cathartic ritual of sorting through my wardrobe for the new season. It gives me the opportunity to see exactly what I have, do a clearout of items that are no longer bringing me joy and to prevent me from purchasing any duplicates. It’s also a lovely experience as I discover my clothes all over again. They seem new, which is a brilliant antidote to feeling like I desperately need lots of new items. And of course it also allows me to see what might be missing.
After a scorching Saturday (for May), where I wore a sleeveless dress (for the first time this year), I thought it time that I should be able to access my full spring/ summer wardrobe. So I set to work. Of course as irony has it, after spending a good four to five hours sorting through and ironing the items, the temperature dropped suddenly on Monday and yesterday we woke up to 14 degrees and a full day of rain. This morning as I write this, it’s sunny again, but not for long according to the forecast, but I’m not going to let the weather literally rain on my parade. (I do feel like I’m doing a lot of talking about the weather at the moment, but it’s unusually wet in Paris for this time of year).
I’ve been sharing a few new items on my Instagram that arrived recently, such as this striped top and white shorts, but as one who loves scouring the net for a new piece that will slot nicely in with what I already own, I’ve become quite a pro at knowing where to find things. Now that I have a huge repertoire of saved pieces, I thought I’d share my edit with you - a curated list of clothing that I would love to wear this new season - to help make your search a little easier if you’re in the market for a new piece. The edit ranges from affordable to luxury - highstreet to high end, but the more expensive pieces are the kind that if invested in, will last for years.
Before I share my Spring/Summer edit, a little reminder about edits for free subscribers - you will now be able to see the first three items, but paid subscribers will be able to see the full edit. These edits take me a long time to pull together, which is why they’re reserved for my most loyal readers. If you enjoy my content and haven’t yet upgraded to paid, I hope you’ll consider it! A subscription works out at just €5 a month (instead of 6€) if you sign up to the yearly plan (that’s only 1.16€ a week - less than a bar of chocolate), where you will also get FULL ACCESS to my archive of wardrobe, homeware and travel edits, including my Little Black Book of Paris addresses.
