Rouen Renovation Diary: Part Three
Searching for the sofa and finally finding ‘the one’, plus everything we considered and a few more I'd be happy with. Basically it's a sofa edit!
Just a quick note to say that this diary will be available exclusively for paid members, as I’ve been revealing confidential information about our finances. Being a paid member means you’ll also have FULL ACCESS to all of my exclusive content (Paris travel guides, as well as style & homeware edits), be able to ask questions, join the conversation and community, AND you’ll be the first to get the details of all of my Rouen apartment sources (fixtures, furniture and accessories) once they’re installed! I’ll also be sharing apartment updates in the private chat from now on - launching soon! (A feature new to Substack that I’m excited to use!) And talking of finances, a yearly subscription works out at just 1.16€ per week - less than a bar of chocolate. And as always, don’t be shy, please let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see in the future in the comments section. Marissa xx
Firstly, a huge welcome to new subscribers - thank you so much for being here! It really does mean a lot. In case you missed it, I decided to serve up some style last week as I’m getting excited about summer, even if the sun isn’t playing ball. It keeps raining. But I refuse to waffle on about the weather. So, back to the renovation, which is still on hold (has anyone else experienced crazy delays? Ours should have been finished at the end of February. If so, how do you stay sane?), but we have just had word that it’s going to re-start on the 5th of June. I’ve got all of my fingers and toes crossed, but not quite holding my breath. In the meantime, I thought I’d talk to you about sofas, which has been a hot topic of conversation at home these past few months. (Yes, perhaps we need to get out more).
The sofa (le canape in French). Also known as the second most important piece of furniture you can invest in (after your bed), but perhaps even more so if you’re looking for a sofa bed. Which we were. (We’ve purchased a one bedroom apartment, but I want it to have the option to sleep 4, making the sofa bed a necessity.) So I wanted to get it right. Cue the perfectionist…
